They have great beer and a great logo. I found out it was designed by Milton Glaser:

"In 1987, two guys visited me with the intention of launching a new beer brewed in Brooklyn. Tom Potter, an investment banker, and Steve Hindy, a journalist, were passionate about the possibilities. They knew their history: At one point, Brooklyn had over 100 breweries, which had shrunk to none. Since then they've had incredible success, growing in productivity and reputation. Nice guys, great beer.
It all began with the logo itself which was intended to produce a reference to the old Brooklyn Dodgers before they decamped for Los Angeles. We've designed all their packaging, communications, and advertising from the start."

I remember seeing some of Winnie's work up in the Great Hall at OCAD. The drawings above are 48"x72" and all done in pencil crayon. I would always see them (stop and stare forever at them) when I went to get my morning coffee and was pretty bummed when they were taken down. I love that I can look at them online now.

Very excited to go back to New York. It's been over two years since I was there. The above is video from my first visit (through the perspective of a very tall Chicagoan friend!), so many good memories that had faded to the background. Was wandering around and revisited Zeloot's site. She's put some new work up since my last visit (it's been a while!) and her style has evolved a bit from her previous works. They still give off that Zeloot vibe though but through less linework and with more focus on shape. It's nice to see some exploration in artists I admire. So damn good.

I am in love with this project, Picture Book Report started by Meg Hunt!

"Picture Book Report is an extended love-song to books. Fifteen illustrators will reach out to their favorite books and create wonderful pieces of art in response to the text that has moved them, shaped them, or excited them. From sci-fi to children’s books to fantasy to serious novels, we’ll cover them all. For three weeks out of every month there will be a new illustration every day from one of us along with our thoughts, process, anything we can come up with. Together we will try to excite readers both new and old and capture some of that magic of storytelling."

I really hope that somebody ends up doing The Phantom Tollbooth. It's one of my favourtist books of all time.
